Natchez sacks Franklin Co.in Major West Subdistrict

NATCHEZ -The Dixie Youth Baseball Major League West Subdistrictplayoffs opened up Friday night as the home-based Natchez WallaceAll-Stars blasted the Franklin County All-Stars 11-1.
Natchez Wallace took advantage early with four fast hits.Natchez continued their batting practice with the Franklin Starssending them a message in the third off a Cliffton Wallacethree-run-homer.
“Our boys just didn’t play good tonight,” said Franklin MajorLeague coach Terry Hammack. “We hope to get back on track.”
On the mound James Mayer picked up the victory for NatchezWallace on a one-hitter with six strikeouts and four walks.Franklin pitcher Cody Jones suffered the loss on five strikeoutsand three walks.
At the plate the Natchez was led by Wallace with a homer and twosingles. Andrew Stalk and Kenny Carlock sent in two singles.
Franklin’s only hit came off a Jones solo homer.
Major League action resumes Monday night at 6:00 at Natchez.
