NATCHEZ -The Brookhaven All-Stars gained a measure of revengeTuesday night in the Dixie Boys 14s District Tournament at LibertyPark. They whipped Claiborne County 17-7, making amends for a 21-20Saturday night setback in the opening round.

An 11-run third inning explosion by Brookhaven erased a7-2 deficit. Brookhaven plated 4 insurance runs in the top of thefifth.

Brooks Hall was the winning pitcher. He struck out 1batter and walked 5. Lee Newell provided relief help.

Leading Brookhaven’s 11-hit attack were David Cuevas,Adam Ogden and Landon Case who doubled and singled. Kenny Smithcollected 2 hits. John Wayne Havard, Scotty Smith and Hall singled.Jonathon Strong and W.T. King were hit by pitches.,

Claiborne was led by Austin Fagan and Jarred Hutto whosingled twice. The losers committed 5 errors compared to 2 byBrookhaven.

Fernwood whipped Brookhaven and Natchez trounced Summitlast night in the Dixie Boys 13s District Tournament at Summit’sWindsor Gay Youth Sports Complex. The loss eliminatedBrookhaven.
