Services for Fred Cruise of Brookhaven are 1 p.m., Saturday,July 15, at Hartman Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Adams UnitedMethodist Church Cemetery.

Visitation is Saturday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the funeralhome.

Mr. Cruise, 92, died July 12, 2000, at Brook Manor Nursing Home.He was born in Franklin County on Sept. 8, 1907, to ThomasJefferson Cruise and Dara P. Westbrook Cruise.

He was retired. He was a member of Adams United MethodistChurch. He was a member of Pearl Masonic Lodge, York Rite Mason,Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, Wahabi Shrine Temple, Robert C. NailPost #687 of VFW, American Legion, Auburn Chapter #87 O.E.S., andthe Mississippi Historical Society. He was an Army veteran of the245th Battalion.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, VivianMcGehee Cruise; his brothers, John Cruise, Rowan Cruise, TomCruise, and Dallas Cruise; and his sisters, Maudie Martin and KatieWestbrook.

Survivors are his nieces, June Krohn of Gulfport and LanellePearson of Jackson, and a number of other nieces and nephews.

Marvin E. “Jack” Finley

Services for Marvin E. “Jack” Finley of Hazlehurst are 10 a.m.,Friday, July 14, at First Presbyterian Church with burial inCrystal Springs Cemetery. Visitation is 5-9 p.m. Thursday, July 13,at Stringer Funeral Home in Crystal Springs.

Mr. Finley, 88, died July 11, 2000, of heart failure at ChristusSt. Francis Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria, La.

He was a salesman. He was a member of First Presbyterian Churchin Crystal Springs. He was a veteran of WWII. He was a 32nd degreeMason of Lodge No. 0452 and a Shriner of Chapter 6.

Survivors are his sons, Walton Eugene Finley of Mendenhall,William “Bill” Thomas Finley of Bennetsville, S.C., and John JuliusFinley of Alexandria; his daughter, Ann Elizabeth Ryan of Wesson;and nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Ora F. Dillon Singleton

Services for Ora F. Dillon Singleton of Progress are 10 a.m.,Friday, July 14, at Progress Baptist Church with burial in ProgressCemetery.

Visitation is Thursday, July 13, from 5-9 p.m. at HartmanFuneral Home in McComb and 9-10 a.m. Friday at the church.

Mrs. Singleton, 77, died July 12, 2000, of cancer at her son’shome in Brandon.

She was a retired Kellwood employee. She was a member ofProgress Baptist Church.

Survivors are her sons, James Dillon Jr. of Summit, Roy Dillonand Keith Dillon, both of Brandon, and David Dillon of Jayess; herbrothers, James W. Fortenberry, Hilton Fortenberry, MiltonFortenberry, and J. F. Fortenberry, all of Pike County; and hersisters, Norma Fortenberry and Louise Cathey, both of PikeCounty.
