West Lincoln’s Lady Bears rallied for two runs in the bottom ofthe seventh inning and beat the Natchez Lady Bulldogs 4-3 Monday atWest Lincoln’s sweat-soaked field.
West Lincoln’s Lady Bears rallied for two runs in the bottom ofthe seventh inning and beat the Natchez Lady Bulldogs 4-3 Monday atWest Lincoln’s sweat-soaked field. West Lincoln improved its recordto 2-2 with the comeback win over Natchez.
“We had some throwing errors which killed us but we hit the balla lot better and that saved us,” said West Lincoln coach AndrewRedd. His Lady Bears are at Loyd Star Thursday, starting at 5 p.m.,with a junior varsity game.
Christy Lindigrin was the winning pitcher. She didn’t issue abase on balls.
West Lincoln finished with 16 hits, led by Jennifer Richardsonwho singled and doubled. Two singles were provided by EmilyRichardson, Hannah Roberts, Holli Bass, Chasity Avants andLindigren. Laurin Smith tripled. Amber Delaune, Rebecca Wallace andDana King also hit safely.
Natchez had 8 hits and took a 2-0 lead in the top of the first.The Lady Bulldogs led 3-2 in the top of the seventh.
In the JV game, Natchez beat West Lincoln9-1.
