A 15-year-old Monticello boy was killed early Saturdaymorning in a one-vehicle accident on Sandifer Highway, said Dr. JoeWard, Lawrence County coroner-medical examiner.

Jacob Young was traveling west on the road near Fergusonwhen his light-duty passenger truck went off the road and struckseveral trees around 3 a.m. Saturday, Ward said. The boy was thrownfrom the truck.

“It looks like he just lost control of his vehicle,”Ward said.

There was no other people involved in the accident, Wardsaid.

Wilson Funeral Home in Monticello is in charge ofarrangements, which are incomplete.
