Judge sentences three on various drug charges

Two men received jail time and a third was placed under housearrest Thursday during sentencing in Lincoln County Circuit Court,court records show.

The three men pleaded guilty to various drug charges and weresentenced by Judge Mike Smith Thursday morning. Those sentenced andtheir charges include: * Keith Proctor, 30, of 2931 Kentwood Dr.,Jackson — possession of more than five kilograms of marijuana withintent to distribute.

He was sentenced to eight years and ordered to serve the firstsix, with the last two suspended for four years probation. He wasalso ordered to pay a $5,000 fine.

* Jimmy Coleman, 53, of 1041 South First St. — sale ofcocaine.

He was sentenced to eight years and ordered to serve the firstsix, with the last two suspended for five years probation. He wasalso ordered to pay a $5,000 fine, $500 to the Crime Victims’Compensation Fund and $220 restitution.

* Mark Barnes, 35, of 127 Short St. – possession of cocaine.

He was sentenced to three years, suspended upon successfulcompletion of the Intensive Supervision Program or house arrest. Hewas also ordered to pay a $5,000 fine, $500 to the Crime Victims’Compensation Fund and $140 restitution.
