Lady Bears shut out BC’s Lady ‘Cats 3-0

Winning pitcher Christy Lindigrin hit a double and a single tolead the host West Lincoln Lady Bears in a 3-0 Division 7-1Atriumph over the Bogue Chitto Lady Bobcats Tuesday night.

“Our defense really hung tough all through the game,” said WestLincoln coach Andrew Redd. “Both teams struggled on offense but wedid well on defense.”

West Lincoln loaded the bases twice but was unable to score arun. The Lady Bears led 10 in the second and 2-0 in the fourth,finishing with 11 hits.

Rightfielder Amber Delaune and extra hitter Britnee Smithcollected two singles apiece for West Lincoln. Hitting safely wereHanna Roberts, Chasity Avants, Lauren Smith, Holli Bass and LyndsayFranklin.

Bogue Chitto got a double from Randi Moak. Jessica Melton,Marquita Ratcliff, Amanda Williams and Susan Reeves singled. Reeveswas the losing hurler, striking out one and walking two.

West Lincoln outhit Bogue Chitto 11-5. Reeves, the losingpitcher, struck out 1 batter and walked 2.

In the junior varsity game, West Lincolnprevailed 2-1. Alicia Kennedy, Lacey Cain, Britnee Smith, EmilyRichardson, Jessie Jergins, Nicole Laird, Ana Stewart and LaceyCrews led West Lincoln (6-3) with a single apiece.

Bogue Chitto got two singles from Haley Roberts. Hitting safelywere Candice Braxton, Meleah Brown, Kayla Smith, Stanci Long andDanielle Sasser.

West Lincoln (8-7, 4-1) will host Enterprise Thursday night fora big division matchup. The junior varsity game begins at 5 p.m.,followed by the varsity at 6.
