Services for Loyd M. Smith of Brookhaven are 1 p.m., Saturday,Oct. 7, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with burial in the churchcemetery.

Visitation is today from 5-8 p.m. at Brookhaven FuneralHome.

Mr. Smith, 79, died Oct. 4, 2000, at King’s Daughters MedicalCenter. He was born in Lincoln County on March 15, 1921, to HenryAlonzo Smith and Minerva Britt Smith.

He was a retired millwright for John’s Metal of Natchez. He wasa member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. He was a Navy veteran ofWWII.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Survivors are his wife, Montiel Reid Smith of Brookhaven; hissons, Loyd Smith Jr. of Flowood, Bob K. Smith of Brookhaven, andBill Smith of Lakeland, Tenn.; and 10 grandchildren and threegreat-grandchildren.
