Eugene Buntyn

Services for Eugene Buntyn of Union are 11 a.m., Tuesday, Oct.17, at Lucern Congregational Methodist Church with burial in thechurch cemetery.

Visitation is today from 5-9 p.m. at Milling Funeral Home.

Mr. Buntyn, 69, died Oct. 14, 2000, of cancer at AndersonRegional Medical Center. He was a native of Newton County.

He was the former owner and operator of Buntyn Sawmill andLumber Company. He was a member of Lucern Congregational MethodistChurch, where he had served as a steward and trustee. He was a pastmember of the boards of Union High and East Central CommunityCollege. He served in the Air Force from 1950-52.

Survivors are his wife, Janelle Buntyn of Union; his daughters,Lisa Bankston of Union, Nancy Jo Maples of Lucedale and Gina Rileyof Brookhaven; his sisters, Etoyle Thrash, Blanche Buntyn and KayMcBeath, all of Union, Lucile Kimbell of Moss Point and MollieDavidson of Terry; his brothers, Willie Buntyn of Union, Joe Buntynof Collinsville, and Jerry Buntyn of Decatur; and eightgrandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the Cemetery Fund, LucernCongregational Methodist Church, 6517 Hwy. 492, Union, MS39365.

Alberta Smith Wesley

Services for Alberta Smith Wesley of Brookhaven are 3 p.m.,Wednesday, Oct. 18, at Macedonia M. B. Church with burial in thechurch cemetery.

Visitation is Tuesday, Oct. 17, from noon until 6 p.m. atWilliams Mortuary.

Mrs. Wesley, 65, died Oct. 12, 2000, at her residence. She wasborn in Lincoln County on March 27, 1935, to John Smith and LillianSmith.

She was retired. She was a member of Macedonia M.B. Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her son, SlyvesterWesley; her brothers, Moses Smith, Richard Thomas, David Smith,John Smith, Anderson Smith, and Sam Smith; and her sisters, NaomiAllen, Arcola Hillard, Emily Smith, and Missouri Henderson.

Survivors are her daughter, Michele Brown of Indianapolis, Ind.;her brothers, Joseph Smith of Moss Point and David Thomas ofMobile; her sisters, Farrie Lee Hooker of Union Church, LessieSmith of Brookhaven, and Willie Mae Dillon of McComb; and twograndchildren.

Alma Lee Taylor Whittington

Services for Alma Lee Taylor Whittington of Crystal Springs are2 p.m., Monday, Oct. 16, at Highland Baptist Church with burial inCounty Line Cemetery. Stringer Funeral Home is in charge ofarrangements.

Mrs. Whittington, 88, died Oct. 14, 2000, of heart failure ather residence. She was a native of Simpson County.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of Highland BaptistChurch.

Survivors are her sons, Alton Whittington of Crystal Springs,Floyd Whittington of Vicksburg, and Jerry Whittington of BatonRouge; her daughters, Carolyn Vinzant of Crystal Springs and AlethaGibson of Brookhaven; and nine grandchildren and 13great-grandchildren.
