BILOXI – The Mercy Cross Lady Crusaders swept the EnterpriseLady Yellow Jackets two straight games Tuesday in the second roundof the Class 1A slowpitch state playoffs.

Mercy Cross beat Enterprise 5-2 in the opener and 6-2 in thefinale. Nikki Leggett was the losing pitcher in both games.

Enterprise, coached by Steve Sasser, finished the season 20-8overall and 7-1 in the Division 7-1A. Mercy Cross advances to theFinal Four at Shiloh Park in Brandon and plays Puckett Friday forthe South State title. Ingomar plays Hamilton for the Northtitle.

Mercy Cross 5, Enterprise 2

Nikki Leggett, Stacey Sandifer and Megan Criswell pacedEnterprise with two singles apiece. Ashley Palomarez, Nicole Floydand Vivian Lang singled.

Mercy Cross 6, Enterprise 2

In the finale, Criswell powered the Lady Jackets with adouble and a single. Leggett, Lacey Palomarez, Ashley Palomarez,Nicole Beard, Floyd and Ashley Tate hit safely.
