Services for Mary R. Reid of Monticello are 11 a.m., Saturday,Oct. 21, at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with burial in BethelBaptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation is Friday, Oct. 20, from 3-9 p.m. and Saturday from 8a.m. until service time at Wilson Funeral Home.

Mrs. Reid, 74, died Oct. 18, 2000, of heart failure at WesleyMedical Center in Hattiesburg. She was born in Monticello on June17, 1926, to Louis and Sophie Lambert Rutland.

She was a retired nurses’ aide with Lawrence County Hospital.She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husbands, DentonKing and Watson Vernon Reid; an infant son; her brothers, LeslieRutland and James L. Rutland; and her sisters, Irene Peavy and InezColeman.

Survivors are her son, Donald King of Monticello; her daughters,Marilyn Mullins of Monticello and Linda Sue Dickson of Baton Rouge;and seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Services for Lucille J. Smith of Bogue Chitto are 11 a.m.,Saturday, Oct. 21, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel with burial inEasthaven Cemetery.

Visitation is Friday, Oct. 20, from 5-10 p.m. at BrookhavenFuneral Home.

Mrs. Smith, 81, died Oct. 19, 2000, at King’s Daughters MedicalCenter. She was born in Lincoln County on June 16, 1919, to ErnestJohnston and Mattie Laird Johnston.

She worked for many years at the Bargain Center. She was amember of Johnson Grove Church of Christ.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Grady H.Smith; and her sisters, Mavis and Lexie Smith.

Survivors are her daughters, Beth Sasser of Bogue Chitto and SueMoak of Summit; her son-in-law, James Moak of Summit; her brother,Elwin Johnston of Bogue Chitto; her sister, Geraldine Watkins ofRobstown, Texas; her grandchildren, Cindy McEwen and Brian Moak,both of Summit, Renea Redd of Bogue Chitto, and Amy Bouchelle ofNorman, Okla.; her great-grandchildren, Jason and Jana McEwen,Sklyer and Brandon Moak, Anna and Seth Bouchelle, and Maggie andLevi Redd; and numerous nieces and nephews.
