David “Billy” Hunter

Services for David “Billy” Hunter of Vicksburg were 11 a.m.,Wednesday, Oct. 25, at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Fisher-Riles FuneralHome was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Hunter, 64, died Oct. 24, 2000, of heart failure at ParkviewRegional Medical Center.

He was a member of First Baptist Church.

Survivors are his brothers, Freddie Hunter and Charles O’Bannon,both of Vicksburg, and James Hunter of Brookhaven; his sisters,Linda O. May and Mary Jo Price, both of Vicksburg, and Barbara AnnO’Bannon of Alaska.

Services for Ruby Sumrall Lambert of Monticello are 11 a.m.,Thursday, Oct. 26, at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with burial inForest Grove Methodist Protestant Church Cemetery in Jayess.

Visitation is Wednesday, Oct. 25, from 5-9 p.m. and Thursdayfrom 8 a.m. until service time at Wilson Funeral Home.

Mrs. Lambert, 88, died Oct. 24, 2000, of heart failure atLawrence County Hospital. She was born in Jayess on Oct. 14, 1912,to Andrew Jackson and Ethel Melissa Rowell Sumrall.

She was retired as a seamstress from Edward Hyman ManufacturingCompany in Prentiss. She attended Forest Grove Methodist ProtestantChurch.

Preceding her in death were her parents; and her husband, BeronLambert.

Survivors are her son, Currie Lambert of Monticello; herdaughter, Cathy Vernon of Jackson; and five grandchildren and twogreat-grandchildren.

Alice Sills Valenti

Services for Alice Sills Valenti of Silver Creek were 10 a.m.,Wednesday, Oct. 25, at Saulters-Moore Funeral Home in Prentiss withburial in Cliburn Cemetery.

Mrs. Valenti, 89, died Oct. 23, 2000, of heart failure at herresidence.

She was a seamstress for Kellwood Manufacturing in Monticello.She was a member of Crooked Creek Baptist Church.

Survivors are her son, Clyde Sills of Silver Creek; herstepsons, Bobby Valenti and Jerry Valenti, both of Hammond, La.,and Sammy Valenti of Texas; her stepdaughter, Frances Cannino ofHammond; her sisters, Ora Watson and Gladys Means, both of SilverCreek, and Sarah Maxie of Monticello; and six grandchildren, 19step-grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and fourgreat-great-grandchildren.
