BA Lady Cougars chop down Oak Forest 61-21

WOODVILLE – Seniors Lindsay Altman and Amy Smith powered theBrookhaven Academy Lady Cougars with 12 points apiece in Tuesdaynight’s 61-21 win over the Oak Forest Lady Yellow Jackets in thesecond round of the Lady Rams Classic at Wilkinson County ChristianAcademy.

Brookhaven Academy (2-0) faces Natchez Trinity Thursday night,beginning at 6 p.m.

The Lady Cougars roared to a 19-4 lead over the Lady YellowJackets at the end of the first quarter. At halftime, Brookhavencommanded a 40-8 lead over Oak Forest.

Tops off the backboards for the Lady Cougars was junior forwardLeah Davis with eight rebounds. Anna K. Gatlin had four assists.Anna L. Gatlin led with three steals.

In the junior high game, Brookhaven crushed Oak Forest46-13. Jessie Altman led the Lady Cougars with nine points. MalloryLogan netted eight points followed by Allison Pickett with sevenpoints. Abby Williams led off the backboards with sevenrebounds.
