Services for John Earl Furr Jr. of Brookhaven are 1 p.m.,Monday, Nov. 20, at Fair River Baptist Church with burial in thechurch cemetery.

Visitation is Sunday, Nov. 19, from 1-9 p.m. and Monday, Nov.20, from 9 a.m. until time of service at Harrigill FuneralHome.

Mr. Furr, 56, died Friday, Nov. 17, 2000, of heart failure atUniversity Medical Center in Jackson. He was born in Brookhaven onNov. 4, 1944, to the late John E. Furr Sr. and Mattie C. MullinsFurr.

He was as a retired from State Bank and Trust, where he servedas vice president. He was a member of Fair River BaptistChurch.

Survivors are his wife, Peachie Furr; son and daughter-in-law,Jason and Chasity Furr; and daughter, Wendy Furr, all ofBrookhaven.

Memorials may be made to the Baptist Memorial Foundation HeartTransplant Fund at 930 Madison Ave., Memphis, TN 38104.

Elaine Case Smith

Services for Elaine Case Smith of Brookhaven are 2 p.m., Sunday,Nov. 19, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with burial in the churchcemetery.

Visitation is Sunday, Nov. 19, from 1-2 p.m. at the church.

Mrs. Smith, 74, died Friday, Nov. 17, 2000, at King’s DaughtersMedical Center. She was born in Lincoln County on Sept. 1, 1926, tothe late Marshall and Ruth Case Case.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church inBaker, La.

Preceding her in death were her parents and husband, Ralph SmithSr.

Survivors are her son and daughter-in-law, Charles Ralph SmithJr. and Diane Smith; brother, Hoyt Case, all of Brookhaven;sisters, Murlyn Smith of Brookhaven and Geraline Fulton ofPrairieville, La.; grandchildren, Shannon Smith, Misty Martinez andLori Grace; and two great-grandchildren.

Brookhaven Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
