Baker, La. Bees hand Franklin Co. setback

ZACHARY, La. – Guard Lionel Aaron pumped in 15 points and ledthe Baker, La., Bees to a 60-40 Wednesday triumph over the FranklinCounty Bulldogs in the Zachary Regional Invitational Tournament.Franklin County got a game-high 16 points from guard LoganJones.
Franklin County resumes tournament play Saturday morning at 9.The Bulldogs play the loser of Broadmoor-West Feliciana in theconsolation bracket.
The Bulldogs (3-5) were led on the backboards by Darrell Brownwith 13 rebounds. Grant Rogers had 7 rebounds.
In the second quarter, Aaron hit three straight treys to breakthe game open as the Bees zoomed to a 33-15 halftime lead.
“We didn’t play well in the first half,” said Franklin Countycoach Chris Jordan. “We did a better job the second half.”
Point guard Pat Whitlow and forward Eddie Robertson netted 10points apiece for the Bees. Whitlow had 5 assists and 2 steals.Center Corey Spears led the rebounding effort with 8 boards and 2blocked shots.
