Mrs. Drew, 92, died Nov. 23, 2000, of cardiopulmonary arrest atMeadville Nursing Home. She was born in Franklin County on Sept.18, 1908, to Jessie Richardson and Everline Richardson.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of Spring Hill BaptistChurch.

Preceding her in death were her parents; and her husband, EugeneDrew.

Survivors are her sister, Annie Mae Terrall of Bude; and manynieces and nephews.

Services for Alice Lee Fairman of Brookhaven are 3 p.m.,Saturday, Dec. 2, at St. Mark M.B. Church with burial in HopewellChurch Cemetery.

Visitation is Friday, Dec. 1, from noon until 7 p.m. with familyhour from 7-8 p.m. at Williams Mortuary.

Mrs. Fairman, 71, died Nov. 29, 2000, at King’s DaughtersMedical Center. She was born in Lincoln County on June 27, 1929, toGerman Dixon and Annie McCall Dixon.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Mark M.B.Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her son, Edward LeeTownsend; her brothers, Willie Sanders Sr., J. T. Sanders, LeodiesDixon and Jessie Dixon; and her sister, Octavia SandersColeman.

Survivors are her husband, Jessie Fairman of Brookhaven; hersons, Luther Townsend of Bryan, Texas, and Hugh V. Townsend ofBrookhaven; her daughters, Gloria Cameron Bozeman, Carolyn AnnRice, and Alice Faye Benjamin, all of Brookhaven; her brothers,Lonnie B. Dixon Sr. of Brookhaven and R. W. Wilson of Bogue Chitto;her sisters, Golla Lee Mackabee of Hattiesburg, Earlene Thomas ofWeed, Calif., and Berneva Roberts of Natchez; her stepsons, ArchieWoods of Los Angeles, and Ricky Levi, Jerry Fairman, and MichaelFairman, all of Brookhaven; her stepdaughter, Annie Woods Butler ofMonticello; and 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

James L. Martin Jr.

Services for James L. Martin Jr. of Hendersonville, Tenn., are11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 2, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel withburial in Riverwood Memorial Park.

Visitation is Friday, Dec. 1, from 5-9 p.m. in the parlor ofFirst Baptist Church.

Mr. Martin, 74, died Nov. 28, 2000, at his residence. He wasborn in Brookhaven on Oct. 20, 1926, to James L. Martin Sr. andEdna Leggett Martin. He was a resident of Brookhaven until recentlymoving to Hendersonville to live with his daughter.

He was a chief clerk with the railroad. He was a member of FirstBaptist Church. He was an Army veteran of WWII.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, EudellNations Martin; his brother, Milton Earl Martin; and his daughter,Ruby Nell Barnes.

Survivors are his son, Busta Martin of New Orleans; hisdaughters, Kathy Martin Reilly of Hendersonville and Sandy MartinHamilton of Montana; his brothers, Marvin O. Martin of Brookhavenand Charles E. Martin of St. Rose, La.; his sisters, Olivia M.Newman and Imogene “Gene” Case, both of Wesson, Virginia Sebus ofReno, Nev., Dorothy M. Hennis of Portland, Texas, Carolyn Watermanof Yuma, Ariz., and Lucille Weiss of Sparks, Nev.; and fivegrandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
