BOGUE CHITTO – The Bogue Chitto Bobcats and the St. JosephBruins split a pair of Monday night games at Calhoun Gymnasium.

The Lady Bobcats jumped out to a 13-0 lead and coasted to a68-41 Division 7-1A win over the Bruins.

In the varsity boys game, St. Joe rallied for a 60-43victory.

Bogue Chitto returns to action tonight, hosting St. Aloysius ofVicksburg.

The Lady ‘Cats started strong and never lookedback.

“We had a good opening quarter run,” said Bogue Chitto headcoach Mickey Myers. “We scored the first 13 points and didn’t allowthem a shot during that stretch. We also got a chance to play someof our younger players and that could help us down thestretch.”

Jessica Melton and Jerrica McGary each tallied 12 points for theLady Bobcats. Melton also pulled down 7 rebounds while Randi Moakhad 7 assists and 6 steals. Marquita Ratcliff added 5 steals forBogue Chitto.

Mandy Andrews and Rosie Smith each scored 8 points for the LadyBruins.

The win improved Bogue Chitto’s record to 7-2 overall, 4-0 indivision play.

The St. Joseph Bruins held Bogue Chitto to onlyseven points in a decisive third quarter en route to the win overthe Bobcats.

“We lacked focus in the second half,” said Bogue Chitto headcoach Theo Black. “We’re still working on getting this team tojell. The season is still young, and I still think we’ll get itdone.”

Carlos Brown had a game-high 22 points, including four3-pointers to lead the Bobcats (3-8). Tradell Black scored 8points, grabbed 8 rebounds and blocked 4 shots to aid the BogueChitto cause. Robert Triplett led St. Joe (7-5) with 18 points.

In JV action Cody Wallace scored 18 points andLuke Hale 11 to lead Bogue Chitto in a 54-27 win over St. Joe.
