Bears rally past Wesson Cobras

Sophomore guard Dana King scored 25 points and the West LincolnLady Bears roared to a 51-34 Tuesday night win over the Wesson LadyCobras in Jack Case Gymnasium.
In the varsity boys game, West Lincoln rallied to beat thevisiting Cobras 68-59, led by guard Cody Mitchell with 18 pointsand post Luke Lofton with 17.
West Lincoln resumes play Friday night at Enterprise, startingat with the junior high girls at 4 p.m. Wesson plays at BogueChitto Friday night.
The Lady Bears (4-7) were led on the backboards by sophomorepost Hannah Payne with 9 rebounds plus 3 steals. King made 4assists.
Wesson (4-7) camped at the free throw line last night but onlymade 50 percent, netting 23 of 46. The Lady Cobras got 14 pointsfrom Jessica Phillips and 11 from Maggie Johnson.
The Bears (8-3) overcame a 24-20 halftime deficit to win theireighth game of the season. Directing West Lincoln in reboundingwere Carlos “Big Dog” Johnson with 7 boards and Lofton with 6.
Mitchell made 6 steals. Jamie Sisco had 12 points, 9 assists and4 steals.
“We picked up our defense full-court and raised the tempo of thegame,” said West Lincoln coach Jason Case, describing the secondhalf rally. “Wesson has a well-coached team. Coach (Jimmie) Naildoes a good job with them.”
The Cobras got 18 points from Richie Miller. Lorenzo Easonnetted 13 points. Scoring 12 points were David Smith and Billy RayMiller.
