Services for Deta B. Allgood of Brookhaven, and formerly ofRichardson, Texas, are 10 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 16, at BrookhavenFuneral Home Chapel with burial at 3 p.m. in Forest Lawn Cemeteryin Pineville, La.

Mrs. Allgood, 77, died Dec. 13, 2000, at St. Dominic’s Hospital.She was born in Peck, La., on Oct. 1, 1923, to Audley Bird andVirginia Furr Bird.

She was retired from teaching after 36 years and was a realestate agent.

Preceding her in death was her father.

Survivors are her husband, J. Wayne Allgood of Brookhaven; hermother, Virginia Furr Bird of Sicily Island, La.; her daughter andson-in-law, Judy and the Rev. Joe Wallace of Brookhaven; herbrother, Girualt Bird of Sicily Island, La.; her sister, La VerneHarris of Bossier City, La.; her grandchildren, Laura and Capt.Doniel Keel of Rock Island, Ill., Melinda and the Rev. Stan Wallaceof El Dorado, Ark., Jennifer and Micheal Smith of Baton Rouge; andher great-grandchildren, Alexandra Wallace, Virginia Keel andSamuel Keel.

Glenda Jointer

Services for Glenda Jointer of Wesson are 2 p.m., Sunday, Dec.17, at Little Rock M.B. Church with burial in the churchcemetery.

Visitation is Saturday, Dec. 16, from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. withthe wake from 5-7 p.m. at Tyler Funeral Home.

Miss Jointer, 40, died Dec. 8, 2000, at University MedicalCenter in Jackson. She was born in Copiah County on April 10, 1960,to Judge Jointer and Mary Alice Jointer.

She was a member of Messiah Seventh Day Adventist Church inBrookhaven.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her brothers,Tyree, Robert and John Wayne Jointer and Richard Dean, all ofIndianapolis, Ind.; and her sisters, Hazel Akinsanya and DebraWilburn of Indianapolis and Katie McKenny of St. Louis, Mo.

Mitchell R. Keys

Services for Mitchell R. Keys of Brookhaven are 11 a.m.,Saturday, Dec. 16, at Mt. Zion M. B. Church with burial in thechurch cemetery.

Visitation is Friday, Dec. 15, from noon until 6 p.m. atWilliams Mortuary.

Mr. Keys, 45, died Dec. 13, 2000, at Hospice Ministries ofRidgeland. He was born in St. Louis, Mo., on Feb. 9, 1955, toChristopher Ewing and Audrey Lee Keys.

He was disabled. He was a graduate of Eva Harris High School. Hewas a member of Mt. Zion M. B. Church. He was an Army veteran.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his brother, Manuel P.Cook; and his sisters, Ibajean Keys and Theresa Cook.

Survivors are his son, Mitchell James Kelly of California; hisdaughters, Jeanette Adams Maxwell of Jackson and Renae Jordan ofHazlehurst; his brothers, McArthur Pendleton and Dennis Edwards,both of St. Louis, Mo., and Padraic Cook of Jefferson City, Mo.;his sisters, Cerebia Epps-Collins and Florence Hudson, both of St.Louis; and two grandchildren.
