Billy Frank Allen

Services for Billy Frank Allen of Belle Chasse, La., are 2 p.m.,Saturday, Dec. 23, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel with burial inMacedonia Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Allen, 70, died Dec. 21, 2000, at Oschner Hospital in NewOrleans. He was born in Lincoln County on June 15, 1930, to GeorgeWashington Allen and Lexie Brister Allen.

He was a retired oil field worker. He was a member of FirstBaptist Church in Belle Chasse. He was a Marine Corps veteran ofthe Korean War.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his brother, RobertEarl Allen; and his sister, Juanita Allen.

Survivors are his wife, Aline Allen of Belle Chasse; his sons,Gary Allen and Darrell Allen, both of Belle Chasse; his daughters,Janice Sisung of Brookhaven, and Deborah Armstrong and BrendaChamblee, both of Belle Chasse; his brothers, Sammy Allen ofBellflower, Calif., and Larry Allen of Downey, Calif.; his sisters,Rita Tucker of Brookhaven, Beverly Haynes of El Dorado Hills,Calif., and Pamela Houff of Hernando; and seven grandchildren,three great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Christine Carlisle Nevels

Services for Christine Carlisle Nevels of Starkville are 10a.m., Saturday, Dec. 23, at Welch Funeral Home Chapel in Starkvillewith graveside services at 3 p.m. in Rose Hill Cemetery inBrookhaven.

Visitation is Saturday, Dec. 23, from 9-10 a.m. at the funeralhome.

Mrs. Nevels, 93, died Dec. 21, 2000, at Oktibbeha CountyHospital. She was born in Brookhaven.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of First United MethodistChurch in Starkville.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Willard Nevels; and herson, Willard Jack Nevels.

Survivors are her son, Don Jay Nevels of Gulf Shores, Ala.; herdaughters, Jean Carol Nevels Furlow of Houston, Texas, GenevieveNevels Wright of Tenaha, Texas, and Kay Nevels Milam of Starkville;and nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and twogreat-great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church inStarkville or to a charity of choice.

Stella Rushing

Services for Stella Rushing of Brookhaven are 11 a.m., Saturday,Dec. 23, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel with burial in RamahBaptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation is Friday, Dec. 22, from 5-9 p.m. at BrookhavenFuneral Home.

Mrs. Rushing, 93, died Dec. 20, 2000, at King’s DaughtersMedical Center. She was born in Franklin County on Oct. 7, 1907, toAaron Rushing and Ruth Farmer Rushing.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of New Prospect BaptistChurch.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Eugene H.Rushing; her daughters, Eloise Stanley, Thelma Anderson, and HazelRushing; and her sons, Bobby Joe Rushing, E. H. Rushing Jr., TroyRushing and William Rushing.

Survivors are her sons and daughter-in-law, Roy and Gail Rushingof Vidalia, La., and Charlie Rushing of Brookhaven; her daughtersand son-in-law, Mildred McCaffery of Bogue Chitto and Helen andDudley Barlow of Hurley; her sisters-in-law, Loney Sykes ofBrookhaven and Billie Rushing of Mt. St. Helen, Ore.; and 12grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 11great-great-grandchildren.
