Billy Frank Allen
Services for Billy Frank Allen of Belle Chasse, La., were 2p.m., Saturday, Dec. 23, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel withburial in Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Allen, 70, died Dec. 21, 2000, at Oschner Hospital in NewOrleans. He was born in Lincoln County on June 15, 1930, to GeorgeWashington Allen and Lexie Brister Allen.
He was a retired oil field worker. He was a member of FirstBaptist Church in Belle Chasse. He was a Marine Corps veteran ofthe Korean War.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his brother, RobertEarl Allen; and his sister, Juanita Allen.
Survivors are his wife, Aline Allen of Belle Chasse; his sons,Gary Allen and Darrell Allen, both of Belle Chasse; his daughters,Janice Sisung of Brookhaven, and Deborah Armstrong and BrendaChamblee, both of Belle Chasse; his brothers, Sammy Allen ofBellflower, Calif., and Larry Allen of Downey, Calif.; his sisters,Rita Tucker of Brookhaven, Beverly Haynes of El Dorado Hills,Calif., and Pamela Houff of Hernando; and seven grandchildren, onestep-grandchild, three great-grandchildren, and a host of niecesand nephews.
Gertrude H. Strickland
Services for Gertrude H. Strickland of Gloster are 11 a.m.Wednesday, Dec. 27, at Brown Funeral Home Chapel in Gloster withburial in Roseland Cemetery.
Visitation is Tuesday, Dec. 26, from 6-9 p.m. and Wednesday,Dec. 27, from 9 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
Mrs. Strickland, 71, died Friday, Dec. 22, 2000, at CentrevilleHealth Care. She was born in Thibodeax, La., on Aug. 25, 1929, tothe late Ferdinand and Marie Breaux Hebert.
She was a clerk with the U.S. Forest Service senior citizensprogram. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ ofGloster.
Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, Richard I.Strickland; a brother and a sister.
Survivors are her son, Orris J. Strickland of Houston, Texas;daughters, Vesta Lachney of Gloster and Lydia Engolio of Houston,Texas; son-in-law, Richard Lachney of Gloster; brother, Fred Hebertof Chalmette, La.; two grandchildren; and twogreat-grandchildren.
