MPSA Tournament

The No. 1 seeded Brookhaven Academy Cougars and Lady Cougarswill play Friday afternoon in the semifinals of the MississippiPrivate School Association District 4-AA Tournament at WilkinsonCounty Christian Academy in Woodville.

The tournament begins Tuesday night and continues Friday throughSaturday. Joining the Brookhaven Academy boys and girls are teamsfrom Wilkinson Christian, Oak Forest, Columbia Academy and BowlingGreen of Franklinton, La.

The two-time defending Class AA state champ Brookhaven Academygirls (32-1) play Friday at 4 p.m. against the winner of Tuesday’sgame between Oak Forest and Columbia. The Brookhaven boys (24-6)play at 5:15 against the Tuesday winner between Oak Forrest andWilkinson Christian.

The championship games are scheduled Saturday at 6:30 for thegirls and 7:45 for the boys. The games for third place will be heldat 4 for the girls and 5:15 for the boys.

In last year’s championship games, tbe Brookhaven girls whippedPrentiss Christian School 67-35 and the Central Private boysrallied to clip Brookhaven 63-60.
