DEXTER – The Bogue Chitto Bobcats and Lady Bobcats dropped apair of Division 7-1A games to the Dexter boys and girls Tuesdaynight.

The Dexter girls nipped Bogue Chitto 68-64 and the Bulldogsmauled the Bobcats 76-48.

Bogue Chitto hosts West Lincoln for four games Friday night.

Dexter 68, Bo’ Chitto 64

“We went into a hostile environment,” said Bogue Chitto girlscoach Mickey Myers. Myers said a recent article appearing in TheDaily Leader about the Dexter gymnasium’s poor condition andinadequate restroom facilities was plastered all over the gym,including the dressing rooms.

The Lady Bobcats fell to 7-2 in the division and 15-8 on theseason.

The Bogue Chitto girls overcame a 23-17 first-quarter deficit totake a 39-36 lead over the Lady Bulldogs at the half. Both teamsnetted 14 points apiece in the third quarter but Dexter outscoredBogue Chitto in the final frame 18-11 to pull out the win.

Jessica Melton and Jerrica McGary paced Bogue Chitto with 14points apiece. Yolonda Drummond collected 11 points and eightrebounds. Randi Moak scored 11 points, made six steals and sixassists before fouling out late in the fourth quarter. Ten pointswere netted by Bogue Chitto’s Marquita Ratcliff. Melton also madefive steals and had five assists. McGary and Kristen Hatton grabbedsix rebounds apiece.

Wsbenkia Haynes led Dexter with 19 points.

Dexter 76, Bo’ Chitto 48

Robin Gamble led Dexter to the win with 16 points. Key Haynesfollowed with 15 points.

Bogue Chitto, coached by Theo Black, got nine points from DenardFerguson. Jonathan Cuter, Marc Howard and Tradell Black led off thebackboards with five rebounds apiece.

In the JV boys game, Bogue Chitto dumped Dexter 45-41. LukeHale’s 14 points directed the Bobcats followed by Cody Wallace with10 points.
