Bogue Chitto rips Salem in Division 7-1A action

BOGUE CHITTO – Jerrica McGary pumped in 20 points, grabbed 7rebounds and made 9 steals to lead the Bogue Chitto Lady Bobcats ina 72-42 Division 7-1A win over the Salem Lady Wildcats Tuesdaynight.
In the boys game, Dominique Addison fired in 16 points to sparkBogue Chitto to a 71-48 victory over the Wildcats.
Bogue Chitto 72, Salem 42
Salem led 15-10 after the first quarter as Bogue Chitto battledback with a 24-10 run to take a 34-25 lead at halftime. The LadyBobcats are 17-8 overall and 9-2 in division play.
Adding support to the Bogue Chitto win with 17 points, 7rebounds and 5 assists was Jessica Melton. Kia Porter scored 11points followed by Randi Moak with 10 points.
Ruthie Bridges paced Salem with 18 points.
Bogue Chitto 71, Salem 48
The Bogue Chitto boys (8-17, 5-6) exploded for a 20-9 run in thefirst quarter. At halftime, the Bobcats led the Wildcats 36-20.
Denard Ferguson netted 11 points and had 7 assists for BogueChitto. Carlos Brown made 8 steals.
Salem got 18 points from Greg Smith, including 4 treys.
In the junior varsity game, the Bogue Chitto girls nipped Salem37-35. Kia Porter led the Lady Bobcats with 15 points. Stanci Longnetted 8 points.
Tosha Coleman scored 12 points for Salem.
Bogue Chitto will host Dexter tonight for a trio of make-upgames. The JV boys begin play at 5 p.m.
