Services for Ellis Ray Wallace of Bogue Chitto are 10:30 a.m.,Thursday, Feb. 8, at Catchings Funeral Home Chapel with burial inMontgomery Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation is today from 5-8 p.m. and Thursday from 8:30 a.m.until service time at the funeral home.

Mr. Wallace, 78, died Feb. 6, 2001, at SMRMC. He was born inBogue Chitto on June 26, 1922, to Tom J. Wallace and Emma B. BrownWallace.

He had worked at Lamb’s Lumber Company, Parker Auto Parts, andSouthern Tractor in Summit, and at International in Brookhaven. Hewas a member of Montgomery Baptist Church. He was an Army veteranof WWII. An avid hunter and fisherman, he held a lifetimemembership in the Buck Snort Hunting Club.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his brother, WilliamErnest Wallace; and his twin sister, Edna Mae Wallace Pope.

Survivors are his brothers, Clifton E. Wallace of Bogue Chittoand Thomas Jewell Wallace of Progress; his sisters, Gertie LucilleWallace of Bogue Chitto and Lillie Belle McGehee of Summit; andseveral nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and otherrelatives.

Memorials may be made to the Building Fund at Montgomery BaptistChurch or to a favorite charity.

Reba Fugler Welch

Services for Reba Fugler Welch of Dry Prong, La., were held Feb.4 at Hixson Brothers Funeral Home Chapel in Pineville with burialin Frazier Cemetery, Prospect.

Mrs. Welch, 73, died Feb. 1, 2001, at her residence.

She was a retired dispatcher for Central Louisiana ElectricCompany. She was a member of Sardis Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Eddis Welch; herdaughter, Pat Worthy; and her parents, Henry and Dillie JaneMcGuffie Fugler.

Survivors are her son, Mike Durr of Jackson; her sisters, AileenNations and Lavon Lofton, both of Brookhaven; her brother, RobertFugler of Brookhaven; and two grandchildren and onegreat-grandchild.
