Services for Charles Floy “Pappy” Ard of Jayess are 2 p.m.,Friday, March 23, at Providence Baptist Church in Lawrence Countywith burial in Providence Cemetery.

Visitation is today from 5-9 p.m. at Harrigill Funeral Home andFriday from 1:30 p.m. until service time at the church.

Mr. Ard, 96, died March 20, 2001, at King’s Daughters MedicalCenter. He was born in Jayess on May 26, 1904, to James Isaiah Ardand Della Carolyn Coker Ard.

He was a retired dairy farmer. He was a member of Jayess MasonicLodge #501 and of Wahabi Temple Shrine. He was a member ofProvidence Baptist Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents, and his wife, GussieMae Furr Ard.

Survivors are his sons and daughters-in-law, Isaiah and MargaretArd and Pat and Bonnie Ard, all of Ruth; his daughters andsons-in-law, Janet and Frank McMurtray of Gaithersburg, Md.,Carolyn and Wayne McInnis of Wesson, Martha Lou and Willie PaulBrister of Jayess, and Jimmie Sue Ard of New Orleans; and 15grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
