Services for Dezzie Ard Smith of Brookhaven are 2 p.m. Tuesday,March 27, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel with burial inMacedonia Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation is Monday, March 26, from 5-8 p.m. at the funeralhome.

Mrs. Smith, 75, died Saturday, March 24, 2001, at King’sDaughters Medical Center. She was born in Jayess on Oct. 3, 1925,to the late John and Ella Lambert Ard.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of Brookway BaptistChurch.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Carol NolanSmith Sr.; brothers, Walter Ard, Carlos Ard and J.D. Ard, all ofJayess; and sisters, Bama Ard of Jayess, Ina Varnado of Biloxi andBertha McKinney of Brookhaven.

Survivors are her sons, Carol Nolan Smith Jr. of Brookhaven andTimothy D. Smith of Columbia, S.C.; daughter, Cherri S. Case ofBrookhaven; sister, Daisy McGee of Brookhaven; four grandchildren;two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
