WESSON – Peyton Warren’s two RBI double broke a 3-all tie withWest Lincoln and gave the Cobras a 5-3 non-division victory overthe Bears Thursday night. It was the final game of the season forthe Cobras who won their last three games.

Tuesday night, Wesson knocked off Division 6-2A rival Richland16-9 on the road.

West Lincoln (11-9) is the Division 7-1A runnerup to champ BogueChitto and will play Thursday night at either St. Aloysius or Lake.Both teams play this weekend to decide their division first placespot.

Wesson 5, West Lincoln 3

The game was tied at 3-all after six innings when Warren singleto win the game. Kyle Smith (2-4) got the win with six hits allow,three strikeouts and five walks. Joseph Langham got the save,working the final two innings with one hit allow, two strikeoutsand two walks.

Langham and Chris Peets powered Wesson with a double and asingles apiece. Tom Burgess and Nick Gunter singled.

“We have had a lot of adversity,” said Wesson coach JerryBrewer. “We have taken some hard licks. But the kids have jelledtogether. I think it is a good foundation for winning. These arethe guys I want to go to the battle with.”

Cody Wallace belted a home run for West Lincoln. Jamie Siscosingled twice. Corey Easley and Jeremy Branning hit a doubleapiece. Adam Rushing and Cody Mitchell hit safely.

Sisco (5-2) absorbed the loss, allowing seven runs, on sevenhits, striking out three and walking two.

“We haven’t been hitting the ball real well,” said West Lincolncoach Andrew Reed. “We have been making too many errors.

Wesson 16, Richland 9

The Wesson Cobras battle back to take a 16-9 Division 6-2A winover the Richland Rangers Tuesday night. Wesson outscored Richland12-2 in the final two innings to pull out the win.

Pitcher Nick Gunter finished the final three and a half inningsfor the win, allowing two runs on four hits with three strikeoutsand one walk. Starter Joseph Langham started the game and wastagged for seven runs allowed on five hits; getting threestrikeouts and four walks.

Langham paced Wesson with a triple, a double and a single.Joseph Smith doubled three times. Kyle Smith, Chris Peets and TylerBroome hit safely.

In the junior high game, Wesson knocked off Richland 6-1.
