William “Bud” Black

Services for William “Bud” Black of Tuskegee, Ala., are 1 p.m.,Thursday, April 19, at Mt. Olive M.B. Church in Brookhaven withburial in the church cemetery.

Visitation is Wednesday from noon until 5 p.m. at Tyler FuneralHome.

Mr. Black, 101, died April 14, 2001, at Salem Nursing andRehabilitation Center. He was born in Lincoln County on May 21,1899, to Nathan Black and Mary Black. He lived in Brookhaven mostof his life and moved to Tuskegee in the fall of 1998.

He was a retired farmer.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Sarah BeardBlack; his sons, James Black, Luetia Black, and J. C. Black; hisdaughters-in-law, Emma D. Black and Gladys M. Black; his brother,Willard Black; and his sisters, Hannah Herrington, Babe Black, andOllie Mae Quarells.

Survivors are his sons, Willie Black of Sacramento, Calif.,Floyd (Gladys) Black, K. C. (Norma) Black, Matthew (Christine)Black, Robert (Mary) Black, and Jay (Bertha) Black, all ofMichigan; his daughter-in-law, Mildred Black of Michigan; hisdaughters, Lucille (Andrew) Chambliss of Tuskegee, and Alberta(Enoch) Porter and Anna Bell (Willie) Campbell, all of Michigan;and a host of grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
