BA golfers win district

WESSON -Directed by match medalist Craig Smith the BrookhavenAcademy Cougars roared to the District 4-AA Tournament championshipMonday at the Wolf Hollow Golf Club. Smith shot a 10-over-par 82 ona windy day and the Cougars beat runner-up Wilkinson CountyChristian Academy by 56 strokes, 348-404.

Brookhaven Academy will host the South State AA Tournament onMonday, April 30, at the Brookhaven Country Club. The Cougars arecoached by Barry Gray.

Following Smith’s score were teammates Brandon Baker at 87,Phillip Hammond at 89, John Rushing 90, Garrett Jackson 93 andTaylor Coleman 116.

The WCCA Rams were led by George Johnson’s 86 and Ruston Cato’s98. Will Stafford was the only Bowling Green player present and heshot 86.

Brookhaven Academy’s B-team participated in the tournament. Theywere led by Jeffery White’s 99. Jason Snider shot 111, Will Rushing112 and Collins Case 116.
