GALLMAN -Brookhaven Academy has qualified five athletes for theState AA Track Meet at Jackson Academy and Jackson Prep. Thequintet qualified for state at the AA South State meet hostedSaturday by Copiah Academy.

Representing the Cougars are junior Jeffrey Waycaster whofinished third in the triple jump with a leap of 38 feet, 11 3/4inches; and sophomore Ryan Nix who was fourth in the 100-meter dashwith a time of 11.87.

Representing the Lady Cougars are senior Lindsay Altman who wassecond in the long jump with a leap of 15 feet, 7 1/2 inches;senior Marissa Kavitz who won the 100-meter dash with a time of13.32 and senior Anna Gatlin who was third in 13.42.

Kavitz also won the 200-meter dash in 27.38.
