Services for Travis E. Childress of Brookhaven are 11 a.m.,Thursday, May 3, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel with burial inNew Hope Methodist Church Cemetery.

Visitation is today from 5-9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Childress, 79, died April 30, 2001, at King’s DaughtersMedical Center. He was born in Blaine on July 23, 1921, to JessieJames Childress and Myra Bennett Childress.

He was retired.

Preceding him in death were his parents; and his wife, JohnnieGriffin Childress.

Survivors are his daughters and sons-in-law, Drothy and NolonBowman and Brenda and Ralph Green, all of Brookhaven; his brother,Jesse Lee Childress of Chicago Hgts., Ill.; his grandchildren,Cindy Bowman Townsend, Greg Bowman, and Steve Bowman, all ofBrookhaven; and his great-grandchildren, Allie Claire Townsend andJohnny Lane Bowman, both of Brookhaven.
