Services for Lewis L. “Red” Monroe Sr. of Clinton are 11 a.m.,Saturday, May 5, at Lakewood Memorial Funeral Home with burial inLakewood Memorial Park.
Visitation is today from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Monroe, 85, died May 2, 2001, at Baptist Medical Center. Hewas a native of Decatur. He received bachelor’s and master’sdegrees from Mississippi State University.
He was a retired extension marketing specialist. He was a memberof St. John’s Methodist Church. He was a veteran of WWII. He was aFreemason and a 32nd Degree Shriner of the Wahabi Temple.
Survivors are his sons, Leon Monroe of Roswell, Ga., and JoeMonroe of Columbia, S.C.; his brothers, James L. Clark of Gilbert,La., Johnny R. Monroe of Meadville, and Curtis R. Monroe of Fulton;his sister, Neva Monroe Doler of Eupora; and three grandsons.
