Services for Bettye Pennington Cotten of Slidell, La., are 11a.m. Tuesday, May 15, at Brookhaven Funeral Home with burial inAntioch Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation is Monday, May 14, from 7-9 p.m. at Honaker FuneralHome at 1751 Gause Boulevard West in Slidell.

Mrs. Cotten, 74, died Saturday, May 12, 2001, at SlidellMemorial Hospital. She was born in Brookhaven to the late Almer andLelia Netherland Pennington.

She was a retired administrative secretary for Exxon. She was amember of Calvary Baptist Church and the Slidell Saddle Club. Shehad lived in Slidell for the past 30 years.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Tom Cotten;and two brothers, Luther Pennington and Roy Pennington.

Survivors include numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces andnephews and great-great-nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to theLouisiana Wildlife and Conservation Society.

Services for Susie L. Smith of Bogue Chitto are 11 a.m. Tuesday,May 15, at Gum Grove Baptist Church with burial in the churchcemetery.

Visitation is Monday, May 14, from 5-9 p.m. at BrookhavenFuneral Home and Tuesday, May 15, from 10 a.m. to service time atthe church.

Mrs. Smith, 76, died Sunday, May 13, 2001, at her residence. Shewas born on Jan. 21, 1925, to the late Jim and Lillian GrayWilliams.

She was retired from Kellwood Manufacturing Company. She was amember of Gum Grove Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Clyde Smith;and a son, Donald Smith.

Survivors are her daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra and MikeBoyd of Ruth and Sally and Mike Hedgepeth of Bogue Chitto;daughter-in-law, Brenda Smith of Brookhaven; brothers, JohnWilliams, James Williams and Tommy Williams, all of Brookhaven;sisters, Joy Moore, Clara Ruth Pittman and Ruby Dale Magee, all ofLouisiana, Inez Smith of Wesson, Ernestine Holmes of Tylertown andEvon Case of Brookhaven; 12 grandchildren; and 15great-grandchildren.
