Mr. Presson, 56, died May 19, 2001, at his residence. He wasborn in Paris, Tenn., on June 22, 1944, to James Lee Presson andFatie Majorie Presson.

He was retired as a captain with the Brookhaven PoliceDepartment with 21 years service. He served eight and a half yearswith the New Orleans Police Department. He was an Army and AirForce veteran, serving in Vietnam.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Survivors are his wife, Susan Faye Walters Presson ofBrookhaven; his son, Dennis James Presson of Brookhaven; hisdaughters, Janelle Marie Johnson of Vicksburg and Dawn LeighMcKinney of New Albany; his brothers, James Presson of Metairie,La., and John Fagan of Slidell, La.; his sisters, Shirley Browleeof Pearlington, and Daryl “Sugie” Stilley and Lawrence “Rinnie”Jordan, both of Brookhaven; and five grandchildren.
