Services for Sadie Mae Gray Bernard of Brookhaven are 1 p.m.,Saturday, May 26, at St. Mark M. B. Church with burial in CarverHeights Cemetery.

Visitation is Friday from noon until 5 p.m. at Williams Mortuarywith family hour from 6-7 p.m. at St. Mark M. B. Church.

Mrs. Bernard, 61, died May 22, 2001, at King’s Daughters MedicalCenter. She was born in Brookhaven on May 16, 1940, to Buster Grayand Emily Gray.

She was retired. She was a member of St. Mark M. B. Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, JamesBernard; her brothers, Melvin Benjamin, Lee Earl Benjamin, WillieBenjamin, and Isiah Benjamin; and her sister, Juanita Brown.

Survivors are her son, Willie James Bernard of San Diego,Calif.; her daughters, Theora “Peaches” Smith, Geraldine Dussuau,Ann Collins, and Kathleen Smith, all of Brookhaven; her brother,Levi Benjamin of Monticello; her sister, Dianna Gray of Brookhaven;and 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
