Services for Ruby Lee Smith Hammill of Poplarville, formerly ofBrookhaven, are 2 p.m. Monday, June 4, at Brookhaven Funeral HomeChapel with burial in Philadelphia Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation is Sunday, June 3, from 5-9 p.m. and Monday, June 4,from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Hammill, 86, died Friday, June 1, 2001, at Pearl RiverCounty Nursing Home in Poplarville. She was born in Lincoln Countyon Nov. 9, 1914, to the late Hughey Isom and Mollie SmithSmith.

She was a retired school teacher and former assistant librarianat the Lincoln County Public Library. She was a member of FirstBaptist Church of Brookhaven. She was a graduate of Copiah-LincolnCommunity College.

Preceding her in death were her parents and husband, HaroldMiller Hammill.

Survivors are her son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Miller and NormaJean Lewis Hammill of Poplarville; brother, Robert Smith ofBrookhaven; granddaughters, Jennifer Hammill Rebich of Brandon andDr. Melanie Hammill Bishop of Summit; and a great-granddaughter,Anna Miller Rebich of Brandon.
