Services for Webbie Tynes Cross of Lacombe, La., formerly anative of Monticello, are 2 p.m. Monday, June 18, at MonticelloUnited Methodist Church with burial in Monticello MasonicCemetery.

Visitation is Monday, June 18, from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. atWilson Funeral Home.

Mrs. Cross, 84, died Thursday, June 14, 2001, at Lacombe NursingCenter in Lacombe, La. She was born in Monticello on Sept. 16,1916, to the late J.W. and Irma Sartin Tynes.

She was a retired receptionist at the Georgia Pacific MonticelloMill. She was a member of Monticello United Methodist Church. Shewas a member of the Riverside Garden Club, Monticello Womens Cluband the United Methodist Women’s Club.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, OthoRutherford Cross Jr.; two brothers, Cliff Tynes and Wayne “Jargo”Tynes; and four sisters, Leonea Tynes Carr, Ontee Tynes Butler,Lucille Tynes Boone Dickey and Essie Mae Tynes McPherson.

Survivors are her son and daughter-in-law, Warren Major andSherrie Cross of Gulf Breeze, Fla.; daughter and son-in-law, IrmaCross and Johnny H. Vitrano of Covington, La.; and fivegrandchildren, James Walter Vitrano, Leslie Tynes Vitrano, MajorCross, Weston Cross and William Cross.
