WESSON -Peoples Bank of Franklin County captured the CorporateChampionship for the second straight year in the Eighth AnnualCo-Lin Foundation Golf Classic. The Franklin County crew, composedof Raymond Steele, Larry Hill, Eric Smith and Randy Martin, shot a17-under-par 55 Tuesday at the Wolf Hollow Golf Club.
Quality Home Oxygen of Brookhaven was the low gross winner witha 56. The team included Don Coleman, Rob Fisher, Albert Henningtonand Chandler Russ.
Co-Lin Number Two, the low net team, shot 60/40.5. The team wascomposed of Craig Hennington, J.P. McInnis, Dave Cross and JohnHarper.
A record-number 29 teams participated in the 18-hole scramble.Allen Kent, Executive Foundation Director, said next year’stournament would probably be split into a morning and afternoonformat to accommodate more teams.
“We were very pleased with the turnout,” said Kent. “We had niceconditions for the tournament. We also had great support from oursponsors.”
Co-Lin president Dr. Howell C. Garner thanked the participantsfor their contributions during an awards ceremony at the ThamesCenter. “Thank you for your participation. We had a greattournament.”
Individual awards went to Larry Hill, Closest To the Pin on No.8; Dennis Berch, Longest Putt on No. 18; and Chris St. Thomas,Longest Drive on No. 2.
