Services for Bernice Johnson of Loyd Star are 2 p.m. Thursday,June 28, at Ebenezer A.M.E. Church with burial in the churchcemetery.

Visitation is Wednesday, June 27, from noon to 7 p.m. with afamily hour from 7-8 p.m. at Williams Mortuary.

Mrs. Johnson, 76, died Friday, June 22, 2001, at King’sDaughters Medical Center. She was born in Lincoln County on April28, 1925, to the late Sylvester and Eva Mae Johnson.

She was retired. She was a member of Ebenezer A.M.E. Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents and five brothers,Lucien Johnson, Luther Johnson, David Johnson, Maxie Johnson andJohn Ferdinand Johnson.

Survivors are her husband, Luther Earl Johnson of Wesson; sonand daughter-in-law, Sylvester and Dr. Ida Butler of Atlantic City,N.J.; brothers, Wesley Johnson of Pace, Fla., and Robert EarlJohnson of San Jose, Calif.; sisters, Clara Johnson and Annie BellGoss of Jackson, Inez Norwood of Brookhaven, Bertha Mae Nelson ofChampaign, Ill., and Addie Mae Bacon of Chicago; step-mother, MaryEliza Johnson-Seals of Jackson; two grandchildren; and twogreat-grandchildren.
