Brookhaven hosts subdistrict tourney

Brookhaven hosts the Dixie Youth Major League North SubdistrictSix Tournament which starts tonight at Keystone Park. Thedouble-elimination tournament will run through next Wednesdaynight. The subdistrict champion advances to the districttournament at Summit.
Joining the Brookhaven American and National LeagueAll-Stars in the North Subdistrict Tournament are teams fromWesson, Hazlehurst and Crystal Springs. Hazlehurst drew an openinground bye and plays the winner of the Wesson-Brookhaven Americansgame Saturday at 6.
Tonight’s games send the Brookhaven Nationals againstCrystal Springs at 6 and the Brookhaven Americans against Wesson at8.
Boys On The Road
The Dixie Boys District Tournament starts Saturday attwo locations, 13s at Windsor Gay Sports Complex in Summit and 14sat Liberty Park in Natchez.
The 13-year-old tournament sends Brookhaven againstSummit and Natchez against Copiah Academy, with both games startingat 6:30 on adjacent fields.
The 14-year-old tournament sends Brookhaven againstWilkinson/Amite at 5:30. Natchez plays Copiah in the latergame.
