Services for Jessye Denman of McComb were held July 3 at HartmanFuneral Home Chapel with burial in Hollywood Cemetery.
Mrs. Denman, 93, died July 1, 2001, at SMRMC. She was born inHopewell on Nov. 15, 1907, to John Wesley Shamburger and HattieCaroline Barlow Shamburger.
She was a teacher for 45 years. She taught at Copiah-LincolnCommunity College for six years and then moved to McComb, where shetaught 12th grade English for many years. She was a member ofCentenary United Methodist Church, where she taught Bible classesfor over 57 years and was a member of United Methodist Women. Shewas a member of the Wednesday Club and the Retired Teachers Club.She volunteered as a Pink Lady at SMRMC.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, W. T.Denman; her brothers, Frank Barlow Shamburger and Vena B. Lee; anda sister, Johnnie Merle Sandifer.
Survivors are her brother, Hugh Wesley Shamburger of Florence;her sister, Mamye Johnston of Wesson; and a number of nieces andnephews.
Memorials may be made to Centenary United Methodist Church or toa favorite charity.
