Services for Ruth Mae Lambert Ballard Shaffer of Monticello were11 a.m., Tuesday, July 31, at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel withburial in Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Shaffer, 90, died July 29, 2001, at her residence. She wasborn in Monticello on March 6, 1911, to Bryant “Bud” and AussieLangley Lambert.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of Bethel BaptistChurch.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Carl C.Shaffer; an infant daughter; three brothers; and two sisters.

Survivors are her son, Willis F. Ballard of Clarksville, Tenn.;her stepson, Richard Shaffer of Ravenna, Ohio; her daughter, NellieW. Young of Monticello; her stepdaughter, Donna Hanyzewski ofChicago; and nine grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildrenand great-great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the building fund at Bethel BaptistChurch, Monticello.
