Services for Ewing Dennit “Bob” Sandifer Jr. of Brookhaven were10 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 15, at Holly Springs Baptist Church withburial in the church cemetery.

Brookhaven Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Sandifer, 79, died Aug. 13, 2001, at St. Dominic’s Hospitalin Jackson of heart failure. He was born in Brookhaven on June 15,1922, to Ewing Dennit and Pearl Bryant Sandifer.

He was the retired owner and president of S&S DraglineServices. He was a member of Holly Springs Baptist Church. He was aveteran of WWII.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his son, David NitySandifer; his brother, John Sandifer; and his sister, Ruby NellBerry.

Survivors are his wife, Ovia “Doodle” Sandifer of Brookhaven;his son and daughter-in-law, Ewing Sandifer III and Sandra Sandiferof Brookhaven; his daughters and sons-in-law, Georgia Kiddy andBill Kiddy and Sue Smith and Keith Smith, all of Brookhaven; hisbrothers, Buddy Sandifer and Paul Sandifer, both of Brookhaven,Maxie Sandifer of Tyler, Texas, and Gary Sandifer of Wesson; hissister, Judy Sandifer of Baytown, Texas; his sister-in-law, ShirleySandifer of Brookhaven; his grandchildren, Brad Evans, CassieSmith, Ewing “Chris” Sandifer IV, Stacy Sandifer, and Maggie Smith,all of Brookhaven; and a host of nieces and nephews.
