Hickman likes effort in BHS scrimmage

Brookhaven head football coach Andrew Hickman was pleased withhis team’s effort Friday night on King Field. On a sweat-soakedMeet The Panthers Night, Hickman’s team finished the evening with ascrimmage.
“The main thing that we had was a real good effort,” saidHickman. “The kids hustled and tried hard. They are learning theirassignments.
“We looked okay. We didn’t get anybody hurt.”
Quarterback Billy Williams tossed a touchdown pass to tight endPhilip Tobias on a screen play which went the distance. “He had twoor three big catches tonight.”
Senior tailback Cornelius Allen scored on the first play of thescrimmage. Maurice Parker caught a couple of big passes and so didNick Downs.
Brookhaven kicks off its season against the Hazlehurst IndiansFriday night at Hazlehurst. Kickoff is 7:30..
