Services for Jacquelyn Norton Sikes of Silas, Ala., are 10 a.m.Monday, August 27, at Radney Funeral Home Chapel in Saraland, Ala.,with burial in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Saraland.

Mrs. Sikes died Thursday, August 23, 2001, at an Alabamahospital. She was born in Silas, Ala.

She was a charter member of Sarland United Methodist Church, agraduate and valedictorian of the University of Montevalo, andreceived a medical technologist degree from Charity Hospital in NewOrleans. She was past president of the Alabama State DentalAuxiliary and was active in the Boy Scouts, where she received thehighest leadership award, “The Silver Beaver”, in 1976. She wasalso active for many years with the Deep South Girl ScoutCouncil.

Survivors are her husband, Henry E. Sikes of Saraland; sons,Hank Sikes of Huntsville, Ala., Harvey Sikes of Greenville, S.C.,and James Sikes of Brookhaven; daughter, Lyn Bickel ofHendersonville, N.C.; brothers, Jim Norton and L. Don Norton, bothof Tuscaloosa, Ala.; 10 grandchildren; and numerous other relativesand friends.
