Lady Bears rally

The West Lincoln Lady Bears rallied from a 2-0 first-inningdeficit for 12 unanswered runs on their way to a 12-2 Division 7-1Awin over the Salem Lady Wildcats Thursday night. The Lady Bearsouthit the Lady Wildcats 13-5 on the night.
West Lincoln and Brookhaven were originally scheduled to playlast night. Salem’s schedule had a division game with West Lincolnset for last night.
West Lincoln entertained their division foes. Brookhaven willreturn to West Lincoln on Tuesday, August 28, for games at 5 p.m.and 6.
Jennifer Richardson powered West Lincoln with a triple and twosingles. Dana King doubled and singled. Hitting a pair of singlesapiece were Emily Richardson and Lauren Smith. Tripling wasChastity Avants.
Adding support to the West Lincoln victory with a single apiecewere winning pitcher Hanna Roberts, Holli Bass and LyndsayFranklin.
West Lincoln, coached by Andrew Redd, improved to 5-1 on theseason and 1-0 in division play. No other games are scheduled untilTuesday.
In the JV game, West Lincoln whipped Salem 21-0 in 4 1/2innings. Alicia Kennedy fanned five batters and walked two for thewin. Kennedy exploded at the plate for a home run, a double and apair of singles.
Brittany Phillips sparked the Lady Bears with a homer, a tripleand a single. Collecting a homer and two singles was Britnee Smith.A home run and a double was drilled by Hope Lofton.
Contributing to the West Lincoln win with a double and twosingles was Jessie Jergins. Collecting a pair of singles was AprilKennedy. Kelsey Bass, Ana Stewart and Nicole Laird hit safely.
