“The clerk stated a white female came in and stated she was nota criminal but wanted all the money,” said Brookhaven Police ChiefArlustra “Pap” Henderson.

While the woman was making the request, the clerk noticed thewoman holding something in a sock in her hand, and thought it to bea weapon, according to Henderson.

“The clerk told the woman she did not have access to the moneyand the woman turned to leave,” Henderson added. “She turned andshowed the clerk it was a beer bottle in the sock beforeleaving.”

The clerk’s observations of the woman’s clothing, height andapproximate age helped authorities to narrow the suspect list.

“Officers rode around the area and saw (Nations) who fit thedescription on Monticello Street apparently having car troubles,”Henderson stated.

After questioning Nations, she was arrested and is being held inthe Lincoln County Jail.

Henderson commended the efforts of officers responding to thecall and searching the area.
