Services for James William Byrd of Brookhaven are 11 a.m.,Friday, Aug. 31, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with burial inthe church cemetery.

Visitation is today beginning at 5 p.m. at Brookhaven FuneralHome.

Mr. Byrd, 63, died Aug. 28, 2001, at Fernwood. He was born inLincoln County on Oct. 11, 1937, to William L. Byrd and AlineLofton Byrd.

He was a co-owner of Byrd Lumber Company. He was a member ofPleasant Grove Baptist Church, where he was a deacon and formerSunday school teacher. He was an Army veteran.

Preceding him in death was his father-in-law, Cade Calcote.

Survivors are his wife, Jean Byrd of Brookhaven; his parents,William L. and Aline Byrd of Brookhaven; his sons anddaughters-in-law, Karl and Dana Byrd and Kevin and Carla Byrd, allof Brookhaven; his daughter and son-in-law, Mary Karen and JasonCase of Brookhaven; his brothers, Jerry Byrd of Brookhaven andKeith Byrd of Dixie Springs; his sister, Barbara Robinson ofCleveland; his mother-in-law, Bernice Calcote of Wesson; and 10grandchildren.
