Services for Paul B. Whittington of Meadville are 2 p.m. Sunday,Sept. 9, at Franklin Funeral Home Chapel with burial in MidwayCemetery.

Visitation is Sunday, Sept. 9, from 10 a.m. until service timeat the funeral home.

Mr. Whittington, 85, died Thursday, Sept. 6, 2001, at theVeterans Administration Hospital in Jackson. He was born inFranklin County on Nov. 6, 1915, to Joe M. and Effie ClarkWhittington.

He was retired from the U.S. Air Force. He was a veteran of theKorean War. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion andDVF.

Survivors are his wife, Virginia Lee Smith Whittington ofMeadville; daughters, Diane Castro of Meadville, Susie Maxey ofPasadena, Texas, and Vickie Lechler of New Orleans; sister, GraceLee of Meadville; six grandchildren; and ninegreat-grandchildren.
